Heathcote PS is part of the Sandhurst Division - a group of schools in a similair geographical location who meet for sports events. Throughout the year, there are opportunities to participate in a range of interschool tournaments. 

As the school has grown, we have been able to field netball and football teams. In 2025, the first ever Heathcote PS football team had an enjoyable and successful day participating in the interschool football carnival today. Five games, four wins and the team was through to the grand final. What an achievement! A close game saw our team runners up, narrowly defeated by seven points. 

In 2026, the first Heathcote PS soccer team participated in Division Soccer. After four games, the team were the Division B winners and were through to the grand final. The team finished the day as Runners Up. We are proud of their sportsmanship, effort and commitment. 

Students have also attended Division Athletics and Division Cross Country with the opportunity to progress to a regional and state level.

We are looking forward to more games of football and netball in 2026 along with making our debut at future cricket tournaments in 2026.

Student leaders also organise their own interschool sports tournaments, inviting another local school to play a game of netball. The 2024 event even made an appearance in The McIvor Times, the local newspaper! 2025 saw a cricket game between the two schools and plans are underway for a rugby game between before the end of the 2026 school year.
