Dave's Group consists of a small group of students from Grades 3 to 6 who meet weekly to work on specific projects. These projects require students to apply their literacy and numeracy skills and understanding in real life scenarios. Additionally, they require problem solving, creative thinking, collaboration and persistence. 

Nesting Boxes

One of their projects was to research the types of birds that call Heathcote home, design an appropriate nesting box and construct it. The Men's Shed provided the wood and cut out the pieces using student designs. The McIvor Times published an article about the project.
